Martech Research hit the links Oct. 6 at Camden County Club, 111 Knights Hill Road in Camden, for a fundraiser to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Kershaw County. The 13th annual golf tournament raised $8,000, according to the nonprofit’s Kershaw executive director, Laurey Carpenter, with 100 golfers competing and 24 merchants donating items for a concurrent raffle. All the money raised will stay in Kershaw County and goes directly toward Habitat’s ongoing mission of homebuilding projects for low-income families, Carpenter said. Habitat for Humanity of Kershaw County’s next home construction effort — aided by a recently received state grant — happens Nov. 14, she said.
