Martech Research provides comprehensive extraction and evaporation services for herbs, fruits, and vegetables, supporting projects from laboratory development through full-scale commercial production. Our extraction capabilities include water extraction systems with vessel capacities ranging from 70 L to 37,000 L, allowing us to efficiently process a wide variety of botanical materials. Advanced separation technologies, including decanter centrifuges, cartridge filters, and bag filters, ensure effective clarification and product recovery.

Following extraction, we offer evaporation and concentration services using equipment scaled to meet diverse production needs, from 5-liter and 22-liter rotary evaporators for laboratory applications, to a pilot-scale thin film evaporator capable of processing 50 pounds p/hour, and a production-scale Con-Vap evaporator with a capacity of 1,200 pounds p/hour for large-volume manufacturing.

Our laboratory-scale evaporation units concentrate extracts by removing solvents under controlled temperature and vacuum conditions, preserving product quality and heat-sensitive compounds. Available systems include a 5-Liter Rotary Evaporator (Roto-VAP) for small-batch process development and research applications, and a 22-Liter Rotary Evaporator (Roto-VAP) for larger-scale extraction and concentration studies. These units provide efficient solvent recovery, precise process control, and scalable data to support product development and pilot-scale operations.

Thin Film Evaporator

The pilot-scale thin film evaporator is designed for the efficient concentration of extracts, heat-sensitive ingredients, and high-viscosity products. With a processing capacity of up to 50 pounds p/hour, the system rapidly removes solvents by spreading the product into a thin film over a heated surface, minimizing thermal exposure and preserving product quality. This equipment provides valuable scale-up data, supports process optimization, and bridges the gap between laboratory development and commercial production.

The production-scale Con-Vap evaporator provides high-capacity concentration of extracts, juices, and liquid food ingredients with a throughput of up to 1,200 pounds p/hour. Designed for continuous operation, the system efficiently removes water and solvents while maintaining product quality, flavor, color, and functional properties. Its advanced evaporation technology supports cost-effective large-scale manufacturing, enabling reliable production of concentrated ingredients for commercial food, beverage, and nutraceutical applications.

Martech Research offers comprehensive nano-emulsification services from bench to full production scale. Our capabilities range from 250 mL on small homogenizers up to 35,000 L in large-scale operations, supported by high-pressure homogenizers (8,000 PSI Gault Homogenizer at 600 gallons per hour) and IKA in-line colloidal mills capable of handling up to 10,000 gallons. With years of experience emulsifying a wide variety of oils and extensive knowledge of allergen-free emulsifying agents, we provide flexible pre- and post-processing options.

R&D projects can seamlessly scale from bench (0.5–30 L) through pilot (70–550 L) to full commercial production. Emulsified solutions can be further processed via spray drying and packaged in tankers, tote tanks, 55-gallon drums, 6-gallon pails, or blue heat-sealed bags.
